About
Welcome to Reel Escape! It all started from a simple conversation with my late grandmother, who was a painter, about engaging in activities to help "escape" the stresses of life. She suggested I give painting a try, so I bought a paint set and started experimenting. I have always enjoyed outdoor recreation, especially fishing, and it just seemed natural to try and capture my favorite memories and the landscapes of my adventures and Reel Escape was born. Having lived in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and currently St. Stephen, New Brunswick, where I work as educator, I also draw inspiration comes from the "Maritimer" way of life and local wildlife. I am self-taught and started with acrylic paint, but now work with watercolor as well. It is always great to see a finished product, but it is the creativity piece that I really enjoy. In addition to capturing my own memories I also use painting as a way to create gifts for friends and family and a way to give back to different organizations with my "Share the Good" projects.
